They have combined expertise in economic development, finance, trade and logistics, and they have been recognized many times for their leadership and professional accomplishments. This expertise pilots the strategy and operations of the Center.
Larry Rice, Ed.D.
Board Chairman
Dr. Larry Rice is Founding Partner & Chief Engagement Officer at Northern Compass Consulting. He is the Board Chair at Center for International Trade Development – Miami. An accomplished leader, educator, author and co-author, Dr. Rice has served on the board of several esteemed organizations, and he currently serves on the board of Helios Education Foundation, and the Broward College Foundation.
Over his 30 years of distinguished experience in higher education, community engagement, and economic development, Dr. Rice has made significant contributions to institutions of higher learning and the business community in South Florida. During his seven-year term as President of Johnson & Wales University, he made giant strides which propelled the institution to national prominence, particularly in diversity and academic excellence. His transformational leadership qualities earned the North Miami campus of the college top rankings in the Wall Street Journal and Time Higher Education College Rankings.
In his position as co-founder of Northern Compass Consulting, Dr. Rice has demonstrated exceptional leadership in providing comprehensive training, assessments, and research services to clients across government and commercial sectors. Prior to his consulting endeavors, he served in various roles including professor, dean, and vice president. He authored and co-authored several published works, including articles in the Journal of Learning in Higher Education and the Journal of Tourism Insights. Dr. Rice also conducted assessments and evaluations for the New England Commission of Higher Education for more than seven years.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Rice has been recognized for his involvement in community engagement activities which include the development of mentoring programs for high school students and summer enrichment programs for elementary and middle school students. He served on the board of directors for the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the United Way of Miami-Dade County, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and the Beach Hotel & Lodging Association. In addition, he advises nonprofit leaders in achieving their strategic planning goals across numerous grassroots organizations, colleges, and foundations.
Kemi Arosanyin
Center Director
Kemi Arosanyin is the Center Director at the Center for International Trade Development – Miami. She is an International Trade Specialist and Director, Trade Development for Africa and Caribbean at the World Trade Center Miami. She is also an Export Consultant with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). Her broad portfolio includes investment promotion, technical assistance, and stakeholder management for transatlantic maritime infrastructure. These overlapping responsibilities testify to her capabilities and expertise in creating and implementing highly impactful trade development programs.
Prior to now, she worked at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and also worked as Program and Grant Administrator for Miami Dade College Center for Economic Education where she coordinated professional development programs, facilitated community outreach and increased private sector engagement to advance the Center’s mission.
Through these past and current engagements, Kemi is actively involved in the international trade community in South Florida where she is known for creating market access, promoting market integration and facilitating two-way trade between the Western Hemisphere (North America, South America and the Caribbean) and Sub-Saharan Africa.
A Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) in the United States with more than two decades of experience in trade finance, international marketing, export development, market research and strategy. She has led many outstanding international business research and strategy projects including the prestigious X-Culture global virtual project sponsored by the Academy of International Business (AIB).
Kemi is a regular speaker at industry conferences, she is a contributor at the Global Trade Magazine and many of her articles have featured in the quarterly magazine for the Association of International Credit and Trade Finance (ICTF) Professionals. She obtained a Master of International Business degree from Florida International University, Miami, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Ilorin, Nigeria, a Certificate in Finance of International Trade from the Institute of Export, United Kingdom, and she completed an Executive Program in International Business and Public Policy at the Georgetown University, Washington D.C.
Ms. Arosanyin is an active member of prominent international trade organizations. She serves on the NASBITE International Board of Governors and she is a member of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) Advisory Council – an initiative of Afreximbank and the African Union to promote intra-Africa trade.
Ketsia Dhanendran Fernando
Assistant Director
Ketsia Dhanendran Fernando is the Assistant Director at Center for International Trade Development – Miami. An accomplished international development graduate with passion for global trade and absolute commitment to advancing socio-economic development in emerging markets especially Africa and the Caribbean.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development Studies and Economics at York University, Toronto, Canada. Ms. Fernando has shown leadership and demonstrated excellence in both academic and non-academic endeavors. As a Delegate in Model WTO in March 2023, held in Geneva, Switzerland, she earned distinction by winning the first prize in an essay competition among 72 highly qualified delegates from prestigious universities worldwide. As a Research Student at York University, her research focuses on the right of self-determination of indigenous and Afro-descent peoples. This undertaking reflects her commitment to issues of social justice and human rights.
Passionate about world peace, public policy, and environmental sustainability, Ketsia has led non-profit initiatives such as Peace by Peace Non-profit in Toronto, Canada, and the Sea Turtle Conservation Network in India. These responsibilities underscore her dedication as an advocate for positive global change.
In her current role, Ketsia has been instrumental in shaping trade facilitation strategy and implementation of economic development programs. Highly skilled in digital marketing solutions, database management, market research, program implementation and excellent customer management. She supports the executive management of the Center on the day-to-day operations of the organization as well as key decision-making process.
Delfina Stuzynska
Program Coordinator
Delfina Stuzynska serves as the Program Coordinator at Center for International Trade Development (CITD) – Miami. She is a dynamic and hard-working professional who has played a key role in the successful implementation of the Governance and Economic Development (GED) Program since its inception.
Delfina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance. Fluent in Polish, English, French, and proficient in Spanish, her multilingual capabilities enabled her to navigate the complexities of diverse cultures, international business landscapes while facilitating interactions between participants and ensuring the smooth execution of the program.
Delfina handles market research, database management, event planning and customer service. A strong team player, effective communicator with excellent analytical skills, she is committed to innovation and excellence in her role.
In part, Ms. Stuzynska serves as the Vice President of Expressions Francophone, a non-profit organization that connects and empowers the Francophone community in South Florida. Her leadership, dedication, and competitive drive have earned her recognition and trust within the organization, underscoring her commitment to making a positive influence in both professional and community-oriented events.
Anthony Cambas
Board Member
Anthony Cambas is currently serving on the board of the Center for International Trade Development (CITD) – Miami. His appointment to the board was motivated by his wealth of experience, expertise, achievements, and contributions to the international trade community in the United States and around the world.
Over the past 35 years, Anthony worked extensively across multiple functions in international trade in both public and private sectors. As a U.S. Customs official, he was part of the team that implemented the North America Free Trade Area (NAFTA).
He worked with the agency as an Import Specialist Team Leader to enforce the harmonized tariff classification systems, valuation, non-preferential and preferential rules of origin and Intellectual Property Rights. He also served as Consultant and Senior Adviser on customs, trade modernization and export facilitation projects in nearly 20 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Until recently, Anthony was the Director of the Center for International Trade Development and the SBDC International Trade Center at Oklahoma State University. Mr. Cambas now focuses on providing training and technical assistance in various aspects of international trade to small businesses and entrepreneurs in his present role as International Trade Manager for Mississippi Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network at the University of Mississippi.
A Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP), workshop facilitator, guest lecturer, trainer, and adjunct faculty with multilingual capabilities in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. He speaks frequently at industry events and has been featured as a guest lecturer at international trade conferences in Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, Europe, Africa (Angola, Benin, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa), as well as in South Asia and Southeast Asia both virtually and in person.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and a Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Florida International University, Miami. He obtained a master’s degree in International Customs Law and Administration from the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies at the University of Canberra, Australia and a master’s degree in International Agriculture from Oklahoma State University. He is a Licensed Customs Broker in the United States, a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) by the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA), and a NASBITE Certified CGBP Trainer.
Catherine Medina-Agüero
Board Member
Catherine Medina-Agüero serves on the board of the Center for International Trade Development (CITD) – Miami. She was appointed to the board because of her extensive experience in leading trade development programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. As Director for Trade Assistance Center at the World Trade Center Miami, she successfully designed and implemented export intervention solutions, market access initiatives, international trade training and capacity building in the Dominican Republic and other parts of Central America.
An accomplished business executive with a proven track record of improving corporate performance through business strategy, project management, and product development from the concept phase to market launch.
Over her 25 years of executive-level experience, which spans multiple industries from financial services, hospitality, e-commerce, to non-profit organizations, Catherine worked with prominent and reputable corporations, contributing to business growth and advancing organizational goals.
For four years, she was Assistant Vice President for New Product Development at Citibank, she spent eight years at Carnival Cruise Lines as Strategic Marketing Promotions Manager where she developed loyalty reward programs which increased revenue by over $25 million, and she served as Product Leader and Loyalty Business Development Leader at Mastercard International for six years where she managed strategic sales and consulting for Geo-Central Latin America covering Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and the Caribbean.
She is currently developing and implementing new programs to drive customer satisfaction as a Senior Account Executive at Assurant. Catherine is fluent in Spanish and English and she has a professional working proficiency in Portuguese & Greek.
Maurice Kogon
Counsellor
Maurice Kogon provides mentorship, guidance, and counseling to the Center for International Trade Development – Miami, supporting program development and implementation, and helping the Center with overall strategy review.
He is the founder of Kogon Trade Consulting (KTC). He spent nearly 60 years in the international business field as a U.S. Government official, business executive, educator, and consultant. Currently, as KTC President, Maurice devotes most of his time to pro-bono export mentoring, guest-lecturing, serving on the NASBITE and other advisory boards, and maintaining the Trade Information Database, an extensive free database of international trade information and tools on his International Trade Compliance Institute Website.
In 2017, Maurice teamed up with the Milken Institute to direct New-to-Export (NTE) 101-LA, a step-by-step program to enable non-exporting manufacturers to start and expand exports. He has testified before Congress on export strategy and authored several works on exporting, including his latest book in 2021 — Roadmap to Export Success: Take Your Company from Local to Global.
Maurice’s U.S. government career spanned over 33 years (1961-94) with the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) in Washington, DC, where he oversaw many of the agency’s strategic planning, trade information, and export assistance services. While at USDOC, Maurice was also tapped to develop and manage the Worldwide Information & Trade System (WITS), an early precursor of today’s Trade.gov. In 2001, Maurice moved to Torrance, California to direct the El Camino College Center for International Trade Development (2001-13).
Throughout his career, Maurice has written and lectured extensively on international trade and has developed numerous Web-based export tools, including this Exporting Basics guide, his Export Readiness Assessment System, and Export FAQs. He has a BA and MA in Foreign Affairs from George Washington University. He has taught international business courses at Cal State University Northridge, George Washington University, and Virginia Tech, and continues to guest-lecture at local universities and for Port of Los Angeles trade training programs. He has consulted for U.S. and international clients, including the Egyptian Government and the UN’s International Trade Centre in Geneva.
Maurice is a past President of NASBITE (2008-09), has served for many years as a NASBITE Board member, and helped to develop NASBITE’s Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential and national exam. He was honored in 2013 as the recipient of NASBITE’s John Otis Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Eyidayo Adebola
Benefit Director
Eyidayo Adebola, PhD is the Benefit Director for the Center for International Trade Development – Miami. In this role, he oversees the implementation of the Center’s public benefit programs. He is a solution driven and seasoned professional with extensive practical experience in program and project management.
Prior to now, he worked in the Telecommunications and Technology industry as a Project Engineer where he managed project implementation and logistics portfolio of over $10 million and implemented standard processes to improve corporate supply chain performance.
Dr. Adebola’s wealth of experience spans over 15 years in various capacities including program and project management from concept development through to execution, project management within cost and time constrained environments, and stakeholders management. Through these experiences, he developed expertise in leading and implementing large complex initiatives. He has interest in finance, international trade and emerging economies.
